2 for 1 Saturday is back. The Gallery and Kindness Club in one, but with a cheeky twist to the Kindness club…
The Gallery
This week’s theme is “playtime”. And whilst the cat’s away the mice come out and play… so Red Ted is at nursery, which means his toys are at the mercy of the cats… One of which ADORES his YoYo:

Kindness Club – Be on Time
This week’s kindness challenge is “to be on time”. People who know me, know that I am ALWAYS on time and if I am not, I am EARLY. So that means that I “cannot take” part… but then, I CAN! I am very very behind with the fun and kind bloggy activity called Tagging or Memes – it is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for other bloggers. I have received a number of these over the last months (oh no, I am so sorry, did I say months?!?! Not like me not to respond in a timely fashion) and now it is time to try and pull them all together.
Let’s begin.
From the Lovely Zoe, who has been a pivotal in my Kids Crafts posts, at Playing by The Book I received the Versatile Blogger Award, as part of that I need to tell you 7 things about me. I love Zoe’ wonderfully detailed book reviews, that are combined with fabulous craft ideas and music choices.
I was surprised by the kindly Jenn at My Delicious Ambiguity the Sunshine Award. Jenn has a lovely crafty blog aimed at parenting and I visit her regularly for “Tots Tuesdays”. All you do for the sunshine award is pass it on to tell someone that they make you smile!
The fun and entertaining Chris on her Thinly Spread blog awarded me the 101 Happy Things award. I love Chris’s blog – she tells about how her adventures in mummydome and always has fabulous post of things she gets up to with her family, from cooking to days out to holiday activities. As a keen sailing family we frequently hear about the adventures on the open sea!

The creative and thoughtful Aly at Life Laundry gave me the Beautiful Blogger Awards. Aly is a wonderfully crafty mum who clearly adores her children and family. Read her blog to find out more about her “Pagan” approach to being a mummy and things she gets up to. As part of this award, I need to tell you 7 things about me.
Hayley from Single Mummy Net sent me the Grumpy Seven. Hayley is not in fact a grumpy person (well not when I am talking to her), so this is certainly different. An answer to Hayley would be the reverse of my points below.. 😉
Emma at Mellow Mummy sent me the 10 Happy things meme. Without knowing it, Emma has been a “key” influencer in our lives. When I was exploring Baby Led Weaning with Pip Squeak all those month’s back, Emma wrote a key post about her approach, which gave me the confidence to do it “My way”, which is “not the BLW” and “not the traditional” way, but something in between, led by me and my baby. And it is perfect. Thank you Emma. And I could write 10 things about how happy I am that Pip Squeak is such a good eater!
And last but not least Helen Lindop from Business Plus Baby also sent me a Meme, I just can’t find the link to it. So you will have to take my word for it! Check out Helen’s fabulous site for business mums. Not only is it very helpful, but Helen is a wonderfully kind person too.
So. I will tell you 10 things that make me happy, which in turn means you learn 10 new things about me:
1) My family
2) A (my) baby’s/ young child’s infection giggle
3) A sunny day (but not too hot)
4) A beautiful photograph
5) Nature, mountains and woods
6) Nature, “harvesting” our own tomatoes grown from seed
7) People doing something they thought they couldn’t
8 – A good book
9) A pat on the shoulder for a job well done
10) A challenge completed. (*phew* and now I am done!)
PS I spoke to the Widow Across the Road and have promised her some muffins…..

Love the photo of your cat. We’ve got 1 cat and 2 kittens (as well as a dog and a snail). They love to steal the boy’s toys when their backs are turned and never fail to make us laugh with their antics.
Posted by Red Ted Art on August 4, 2010 at 8:44 pm
You have a snail! cool. Red Ted would LOVE a pet snail. I would worry that it crawls away.. sigh.

That is such an awesome shot – kitty looks a little bit…grumpy! Or is she just feigning disinterest?!
Posted by Red Ted Art on August 8, 2010 at 10:57 am
Oh yes, she has that grumpy I cant be bothered look… when she’s actually very focussed….
